Mozilla Firefox 3.6 is now fully supported

The report now also can list checks (off by default) and warnings (excluding component recognition warnings, on by default) integrated into the test listing.
Besides, the performance of report creation has been drastically improved and its memory impact reduced.

All comment attributes can now be edited in an external editor similar to scripts.

New toolbar buttons in the run-log window for navigating to the next/previous error or warning.

Dependencies can now optionally be resolved in a namespace which allows having different sets of dependencies for different parts of a test so that the dependencies don’t interfere with each other.

The tree display in run-logs now shows expanded values instead of variables. This can be toggled via the “View” menu.

Compactification for run-logs is now more efficient and special placeholder log entries show where nodes were removed during compactification.

The runid of the current test-run now is now available via ${web2test:runid}.

For nodes like Test or TestSet with several tabs for variable bindings the number of bound variables is now displayed in the tab which makes it much easier to locate those bindings.

Popup Windows created through the Microsoft Internet Explorer only mechanism window.createPopup() are now supported.

Bugs fixed:

Firefox 3.6 beta crashed when using the en-us version and recording tests on forms.

Determination of the size of specific body element’s returned wrong values.

Wait for absence was not working correctly for invisible nodes.

Automatic scrolling of web pages for image checks and replay of hard events was not working as expected in certain circumstances.

Some text checks resulted in empty string checks.

After cancelling a download on a web page recording of events was not possible in some cases.

Closing modal popups sometimes caused an exception in the browser engine.

Changing locale of the browser during run time was not working correctly.

Return value of getSourcecode was lacking the surrounding HTML-tag.

When selecting the “What’s this?”-Link (contextual help) from the context menu the index page of the documentation was opened and not the correct sub page.

new Features:

New reporting mechanism added to web2test which contains a complete survey of all executed actions (Events) and assertions (Checks) during a test-run (see manual chapter 14.2).

A FAQ-chapter was added to the manual to simplfy the handling of common problems.

Enhanced documentation for converting/packing nodes.

Where scrolling a web page is required to perform a hard event or an image check, web2test now tries to scroll a web page itself via Javascript calls instead of relying on the browser’s internal mechanism which often completely messes up the display especially on web page with iframes.

All textfields, terminals etc. in web2test’s user interface can now be searched locally by pressing Ctrl+F when the field owns the keyboard focus.

Component recognition based on geometry can now be suppressed by setting the coordinate and size attributes of a Component to “-”.

It is now possible to specify just the Class count or Class index of a Component node and ignore the other.

Operations that search for or result in changes to multiple nodes now bring up a separate result dialog listing the affected nodes. You can navigate to specific nodes directly from that dialog.

The keyboard shortcut for the “Redo” operation was changed from Ctrl-R to Ctrl-Y since this has become a de facto standard.

The warning about nested Test-case execution can now be suppressed via the option Log warning for nested test-cases.

Copying or Dragging a procedure situated in the procedures nodes now automatically creates a corresponding procedure call.

Bugs fixed:

Several potential memory leaks and null pointer issues which could be caused by invalid html.

DocumentComplete-Events on about:blank pages were recorded in Mozilla based Browsers and not recognized during replay.

Jython NameError occured when using a ChoiceOption with rc.setOption()-mechanism.

assignment of Javascript-variables through JS-Bridge had no impact on the actual values in the browser window.

Some Cascading Stylesheed-issues in the generated Reports and Test-Reports.

special Javascript-Confirm-Dialog was not displayed in Mozilla Firefox.

NullpointerException in MutationListener when using multiple popups.

Exception in Browser-Engine after showing a Download-dialog and selecting cancel.

Popup-dialog was not returning the correct return value in some cases.

Closing browser-window while in checkmode was not working correctly.

Exception occured when calling ShowModalDialog through JS-Bridge.

Using the replace dialog to replace a regular expression with an empty string caused an exception.

When creating reports, warnings can be suppressed entirely by specifying -report.warnings=false for batch mode or deactivating the respective option in the dialog for interactive report generation.

Bugs fixed:

Javascript bridge was not allowing write access to all elements in a website

Javascript bridge sometimes caused javascript errors in runlog (Object.rettype/Object.retval)

autocompletion for classes DialogNode and FrameNode was missing

stop button and corresponding events were not working in popup windows

server url’s containing “#”-elements were sometimes ignored during recording

several minor issues with javascript triggered popups

DaemonTestRunListeners did not work correctly in asynchronous mode

(reporting) screenshots for failed image checks were always saved regardless of whether the failed check actually represented an error or was just a part of a conditional construct.

When determining uniqueness of “id” attributes for use as names, web2test was too strict so that in some cases potential names were not assigned.

Waiting for a new document did not handle the window name attribute correctly.

Option settings from rc.setOption() in the SUT were reset whenever options were changed in the option dialog.

With JDK 1.6 some of web2test’s dialogs were not displayed with the correct size.

Several problems with split run-logs were fixed.

With “rc.setOption” a majority of the program options can not only be set globally but also temporarily for selected test cases or parts thereof. This largely increases the flexibility of the test cases.

In the new version the user can access Javascript objects in the browser DOM for reading and writing via a Javascript bridge. Together with the Javascript bridge there are also new standard procedures included - e.g. for the verification of CSS properties.
